I met Lily, an amazing life model, in a class this spring - and I sketched her freely and brightly. It was a joy, and I realised that the blues and pinks I had used on the page needed to live in glass. I literally walked into my studio the next day and started cutting a piece of glass I had just been gifted using my sketch as the cartoon.
I never thought I would be cutting a piece of glass to gently cup an under thigh and vulva. I enjoyed leaning into the stunning colours of the vintage Uroboros glass. I loved finding a way of capturing my calligraphy style - honouring this artworks roots as a life drawing sketch and the movement in my drawing style. I am proud of the feeling of voluptuous and curvaceousness in this 2d glass piece.
